“Hazardous Chemicals in Health Care, A Snapshot
of Chemicals in Doctors and Nurses”

The CDC’s National Biomonitoring Program, the National Report
on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals, and Physicians
for Social Responsibility’s biomonitoring study, will be discussed.

Speaker: Holly Carpenter, BSN, RN, is a Senior Staff Specialist
for the American Nurses Association’s Center for Occupational and
Environmental Health.

“How Safe is Your Make-Up?
The ugly truth behind the beauty industry.”

This presentation will discuss the use of toxic chemicals as
ingredients in cosmetic and personal care products; highlight lack
of federal policy to protect and ensure safety, and identify at least
three ways in which the consumer can decrease his or her exposure
risk.

“Healthy Spaces for Healthier Indoor Environments”

Do you feel better when outside the home or workplace after
several hours? Are you buying, building, or remodeling a healthier
home? Do you have symptoms or a medical condition and want to
know what environmental factors contribute to your condition? Do
you want to make your living spaces healthier, greener or more
environmentally sustainable?

This lecture will help you understand how your indoor environment
impacts your health and guide you to healthy solutions. It will help
identify issues that may pose health problems and recommend ways
that can help you create a healthier indoor environment to benefit
your family’s health.

Speaker: Jim Quigley, MS, BBEC, Owner of Healthy Spaces

All lectures will take place at John H. Ammon Center Auditorium, Christiana Care, Newark, DE 7-8:30 PM.
